Joe "747" joined the Saskatchewan Rughriders in 1982, and put up pretty good numbers for a rookie. He completed 53.9% of his 454 pass atempts for 3312 yards, while throwing more TDs (19) than interceptions (16). Things didn't go so well for Adams in 1983, an he was replaced as the starting QB when the Riders obtained veteran John Hufnagel from Winnipeg. Adams finished he seson with Toronto, dressing for one game, but seeing no action. Adams got a shot with Ottawa in 1984, playing in seven games.
