Tom Barnett

Barnett played just the one season (1962) with the Riders. The 2000 Roughrider media guide lists Barnett as a QB, but he was actually a RB / DB. A graduate of Purdue in the Big Ten, Barnett was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the third round and played with them in 1959 and 1960. See Complete NFL Stats. In 1961, Barnett joined the newly formed Minnesota Vikings and was a late training camp cut after being bothered by an ankle injury. Barnett joined the Riders in 1962. There were no game participation stats kept in 1962, so it is unknown how many games he played that year, though he did not show up in the official 1962 CFL statistics (including no rushing stats).
