John Paul (J.P.) Bekasiak

J.P. Bekasiak was born in Edmonton and played college football at Toledo. Bekasiak was a first round draft pick in the 2007 college draft by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Bekasiak played two seasons for Hamilton (2007-08) and then four seasons with the Alouettes (2009-12). Bekasiak initially was an offensive lineman, but was converted to play on the defensive line. Bekasiak turned out to be a pretty good defensive lineman. In 2011, he recorded 21 defensive tackles and 4 quarterback sacks.  Bekasiak was sometimes used as a tight end on the jumbo formation on offence and in 2012 caught his first pass for two yards and a touchdown.  Bekasiak won two Grey Cups with the Alouettes in 2009 and 2010. Bekasiak retired after the 2012 season.
