Pat Bonnett

Pat Bonnett was born in Montreal, so it seems only natural that he would end up playing for the Montreal Alouettes.  Bonnett went south to play his college footbal with Idaho State where he was an All-Star in the Big Sky Conference.  Bonnett joined the Alouettes in 1973. and would go on to play seven years with Montreal (1973-79).  Bonnett made it to four Grey Cups in that span with the Als, though there wasn't much variety in opponents as all four games were agaisnt the Edmonton Eskimos.  Bonnett and the Als won two of those contests, winning cups in 1974 and 1977, losing in 1975, and 1978.   The Alouettes made it to the cup again in Bonnett's last year in 1979, but Bonnett was not around for the cup loss, however, as torn knee ligaments early in the seasons finished him for the year.  Bonnett was mainly an offensive guard, but also saw action at defensive end as he filled in for injured t eammates.
