Patrick Thomas Brady

After playing at the University of Reno - Nevada where he played quarterback and did the punting, Pat. Brady was draftedby the New York Giants of th NFL in the 13th round of th e1952 college draft. Brady ended up with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats to start the1952 season. Brady was an exceptional punter, but due to the import restrictions, Hamilton could not afford to keep him just as a punter and apparently were not interested in him as a quarterback. Brady was released after just one game. The Pittsburgh Steelers were in need of a punter and gave Brady a call. Brady played three seasons (1952-54) for the Steelers and led the NFL in punting average in both 1953 and 1954. Brady's career came to an aburpt end when he tore an Achilles tendon jumping for a high snap on a punt.

Pat Brady passed away on July 14, 2009.
