Billy Cross

Out of West Texas A&M (formerly West Texas State), Billy Cross was a 24th round draft pick of the the Cardinals in the 1951 NFL college draft. Cross would go on to play three seasons with Chicago before coming North to play in the CFL in 1954. You might say Cross was destined to play in Canada as his nickname was the Canadian Comet after the highschool he played at in Texas.

Cross joined the Toronto Argonauts for one season in 1954. Cross played both ways as was the custom back then, playing running back on offence and defensive back on defence.  Crosss was also used on kick returns.

Billy Cross passed away on July 5, 2013.
