Moses Denson

Moses Denson was a highly touted runing back out of Maryland who played three seasons with the Montreal Aloutttes (1970-72).  Despite the shortness of his CFL career, Denson is still considered by many to be one of the best running backs to play for the Als.  Denson had a very good rookie season, running for 820 yards with a 7.1 yard average in a 14 game season.  Perhaps his most notable play was the touchdown pass he threw in the 1970 Grey Cup on a broken play, third and one gamble deep in Calgary territory. Montreal went on to win the 1970 Grey Cup 23-10.  Denson was injured in 1971 and limited to just 7 games, but picked up 498 yards.  Denson bounced back from his injuries in 1972 and ran for 754 yards in 13 games.  Denson was named an Eastern All-Star in both 1970 and 1972.  After 1972, Denson left Montreal and joined the Washington Redskins of the NFL for two seasons (1974-75).
