Lou Harris

Along with Monroe Eley and JOhnny Musso, Lou Harris formed a strong trio of running backs for the BC Lions in the early to mid 1970s.  Harris joined the Lions in 1973 filling in for the injured Eley and had 482 yards in 91 carries.  In 1974, Harris and Eley t eamed up to finhs third and fourth respectively in the West rushing and it was Harris's best season with 1239 yards rushing. Harris also set a career high with 48 catches which together earned him both Western and All-Canadian All-Star honours.  With both Eley and Musson gone in 1975, Harris was left to carry the ball by himself and put up similar numbers, rushing for 958 yards in 13 games to win Western All-Star honours for the second year n a row.  In 1975, Harris t eamed up with Mike Strickland in the BC backfield, rushing for 764 yards.  In 1977, Harris moved on to Calgary for his last season in the CFL, but with Willie Burden running the ball, Harris didn't see much action in the eight games he dressed, with only 136 yards rushing.  Harris finished his CFL career with 3599 yards rushing.
