The all-time roster for the Bombers in thei rmedia guides lists Herbertson for 1954 and 1955. Herbertson attended the Bomber training camp in 1954, but didn't crack the lineup until 1955. In 1956, Herbertson played at least one exibition game with the Bombers, but did not play during the regular season. In 1957, Herbertson joined the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
