Doug McNichol

McNichol was a defensive end who played 11 years in the CFL with Montreal and Toronto from 1953 to 1963.  McNichol joined Montreal in 1953 out of Western Ontario and was an East All-Star at DE in his rookie season. That was the first of five East All-Star honours for McNichol at DE as he proved he was no rookie flash in the pan.  McNichol, a strong pass rusher, won East All-Star honours also in 1954, 1955, 1958 and 1959.  McNIchol moved to Toronto in 1961, playing his last three seasons with the Argos. McNichol was elected to the Etobikoke Sports Hall of Fame in 2008. Doug McNichol passed away from pancreatic cancer on February 15, 2012.
