Ellard Miles played with the Montreal Hornets in 1945 and then joined the Alouettes who who formed in 1946 to replace the Hornets. In 1947, Miles moved to Ottawa to play for the Trojans in the ORFU, followed by three seasons (1948-50) with the Ottawa Rough Riders.
