Phil Minnick

Phil Minnick played college football at Northern Iowa and joined the Winipeg Blue Bombers in 1965. Minick played 8 seasons for the Blue and Gold from 1965 to 1973.  Minnick suffered a knee injury in the first game of 1970 and missed the rest of the season.  Minnick retired prior to the start of the 1971 season, but came back to play one more season in 1972.

Minnick won West All-Stars in 1966 and 1968 and a pair of CFL All-Stars in 1966 and 1969.  There were no tackle or quarterback sack stats kept during the years that Minnick played, but he did record 11 carer interceptions and 6 career fumble recoveries. Minnick was selected for the Winnipeg Blue Bomber Hall of Fame in 1988.
