Herb Mul-Key didn't play college football, but impressed Washington Redskins coach George Allen at an open tryout with his tremendous speed. Mul-Key made the team, and played mainly as a kick returner for three seasons (1972-74).
Mul-Key joined the Montreal Alouettes in 1975 and played three games, mainly as a kickoff returner.
