Titley was a fifth round draft pick by the Calgary Stampeders in 1976 and joined the Stamps that season. Titley played four seasons with Calgary (1976- 79) with Calgary before being traded to Ottawa in July of 1980 for future considerations. Titley played five seasons in Ottawa from 1980 to 1984, with his best season coming in 1983 with an Eastern All-Star honour at center. Injuries limited Titley to just one game in 1984 and he was traded to Montreal for future considerations prior to the 1985 season.
