Alvin (Skip) Walker

Walker joined Montreal in 1980 and along with David Green formed a strong 1-2 running punch with Green finishing second in the East in rushing, and Walker finishing third with 692 yards in 13 games.  In 1981, Walker only plkayed 9 games and was lost in the shuffle of Montreal's high priced signings of Ferregamo, Scott and Johnson while, David Overstreet took over as the #1 running back.  Walker had only 17 carries in thos 9 cames for 54 yards.  Walker was expendable as far as Montreal was concerned, but he went on to have two excellent seasons for Ottawa in 1982 and 1983.  He ran for 1141 and 1431 yards in those two seasons, both times leading the East in rushing and both times winn All-Canadian honours.  Walker played only 6 games in his final season in 1984, rushing for 254 yards to finish with a career total of 3574 yards.
