Lorne Watters was a Calgary boy through and through. He was born and raised in Calgary and played his college ball for the University of Calgary Dinos. Watters was drafted in the seventh round of the 1973 CFL college draft by the BC Lions and went on to play 18 games over two seasons for the Leos (1974-75).
