Ralph Webber was born in Montreal and attended Catholic High School in Montreal. After spending time at North Carolina State, Webber joined the Montreal Alouettes for their first season in 1946, playing two games. Webber returned to the Als in 1948, playing 11 games at tackle. In 1952, Webber moved to help coach the Windsor Royals of the ORFU.
