Wilson had a tryout with the New England Patriots of the NFL in 1981 as a free agent. In 1982, Wilson joined the Argos as a free agent in May. Wilson played five seasons with the Argos, recording 14 career interceptions, 3 defensive touchdowns and winning an East All-Star in 1983 when he recorded a career high 4 interceptions.
