Synopsis
Because of World War II, the IRFU / Big Four suspended play as did the WIFU (West).  A couple of military teams based in Toronto, the RCAF Hurricanes and the Navey Bulldogs joined the regular ORFU teams like Balmy Beach and the Toronto Indians.  The Ottawa Rough Riders continued operation, but as part of the an Ottawa based league.  Out West, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers added the RCAF moniker to their name and played in a three team Winnipeg based league along with the Winnipeg RCAF Bombers and the University of Manitoba.  For the Grey Cup, the three Winnipeg teams pooled their talent under the name of the Winnipeg RCAF Bombers as most of the players came from that team.
