FRIDAY JUNE 29
CALGARY 24, Winnipeg 17 - K J. T. Hay booted three FGs in a 12-point effort to propel Calgary. Hay booted FGs of 31, 33 and 39 yards in a penalty-filled contest, in which the teams had a total of 14 turnovers, eight by the Bombers.
SATURDAY JUNE 30
Hamilton 49, MONTREAL 31 (16596) - Rufus Crawford caught two Dieter Brock TD passes for the Ti-Cats. The game marked the debut of Montreal QB Turner Gill, who completed 15 of 27 passes for 220 yards and a TD.
EDMONTON 32, Ottawa 31 - Veteran Brian Kelly caught four TD passes and rookie Laurent DesLauriers intercepted three passes as Edmonton won a thriller. Dave Cutler kicked the winning 11-yard FG with 72 seconds left.
SUNDAY JULY 1
TORONTO 25, Saskatchewan 10 (23381) - Argo QB Joe Barnes led his offense to 433 yards and three TDs. The Argo defence yielded 339 yards, most of it, 111 yards rushing, 73 receiving, to RB Craig Ellis.

OTTAWA 17, Calgary 16 - Calgary QB Bernard Quarles fumbled the ball with 4:17 left on the Ottawa six-yard line and set up a league-record 104-yard fumble return for a TD by Riders' linebacker Al Washington and the win.
SUNDAY JULY 8
HAMILTON 27, Saskatchewan 27 (T) - The Riders had a 27-13 lead with less than three minutes left in the game, before having to settle for the tie. They came back to take their 14-point lead after being down 13-1.
WINNIPEG 28, Toronto 26 (25235) - In all, the Argos were penalized 13 times for 97 yards compared to eight times and 62 yards for Winnipeg. The Bombers won with only 233 yards in offence compared to 452 by Toronto.

Montreal 32, SASKATCHEWAN 16 (23008) - Montreal took advantage of numerous mistakes to score 28 second-half points and bounced back from  a 9-4 halftime disadvantage. DB Aaron Hill picked off an errant pass for a TD.
British Col 39, TORONTO 29 (34092) - Lion QB Roy Dewalt completed 29 of 44 passes for 492 yards, setting a team record in passing yardage for the second consecutive week, as the Lions became the last unbeaten team.

CALGARY 23, Hamilton 18 (20767) - Despite missing QB Dieter Brock and other top offensive players, the Ticats were close until an early fourth-quarter 86-yard TD by Calgary's Lewis Walker on a pass from QB Bernard Quarles.

Ottawa 31, MONTREAL 28 - WR Tyron Gray caught three TD passes from QB J.C. Watts to pace Ottawa. Concorde QB Turner Gill passed for two TDs and a two-point conversion.
SUNDAY JULY 22
TORONTO 43, Edmonton 26 (31132) - The Argos switched to QB Joe Barnes in the second quarter and piled up 28 points in the second quarter, including three TDs in 1:32. Barnes was good on 23 of 34 for 356 yards and six TDs.
WINNIPEG 25, British Col 3 (31113) - A swarming Winnipeg defense sacked QB Roy Dewalt eight times, while RB Willard Reaves ran roughshod over the Lions' defence, picking up more than 160 yards and scoring one touchdown.

MONTREAL 28, Calgary 14 - Turner Gill fired a first-quarter 18-yard TD to Stanley Washington to lead Montreal. Concorde LB Ken Ciancone had a 30-yard interception TD return, and DB Harry Skipper ran 56 yards for another.

British Columbia 29, SASKATCHEWAN 7 - The Lions rang up 333 yards on offense, despite missing WR Mervyn Fernandez with an injury.

Edmonton 37, SASKATCHEWAN 21 - RB Neil Lumsden bowled his way to two TDs and QB Matt Dunigan ran for two more to lead the Eskimos to the win.
Toronto 30, HAMILTON 22 (22201) - WR Terry Greer threw a 42-yard option pass to Paul Pearson for an earyl TD, and the Argos never trailed, as Condredge Holloway completed 24 of 33 passes for 368 yards.

SASKATCHEWAN 30, Winnipeg 25 (25208) - K Dave Ridgway booted five FGs, including a 52-yarder late in the fourth quarter, to pace Saskatchewan and end a Blue Bomber seven- game win streak.
MONDAY SEPTEMBER 3
HAMILTON 30, Montreal 11 (12888) - Dieter Brock passed for two TiCat TDs and ran for another. Brock ran over from 1 yard out to break a 3-3 second-quarter tie as the Tiger-Cats opened a 10-3 lead at the half.
Edmonton 30, CALGARY 28 - The game featured a 91- yard interception return for a TD by Edmonton's Darryl Hall and a fumble recovery that was turned into a 32-yard touchdown by another Esk, defensive back Jeff Treftlin.

Calgary 32, SASKATCHEWAN 18 (23042) - Calgary QB Greg Vavra tossed a pair of second-quarter TDs and rushed for another. The Stamps trailed 10-0 at the end of the first quarter, but rallied for 24 second-quarter points.

MONTREAL 14, Winnipeg 14 (T) - Gerry Dattilio came off the bench late in the third and helped put 10 points on the board. The tie came on Don Sweet's 20-yard FG with 1:29 to go. Earlier, he had kicked his 300th career FG.
Saskatchewan 37, BRIT COL 28 - Rider QB Joe Paopao completed 12 of 25 passes for 201 yards before being injured. Homer Jordan came in and completed 10 of 17 passes for 171 yards to seal the win.

HAMILTON 29, Calgary 26 - QB Dieter Brock's one-yard TD run with 7:20 left
sealed the upset. Hamilton earned the win despite only 166 total yards on offense, compared to 366 by Calgary.

TORONTO 21, Brit Col 21 (T) (49258) - The B.C. front four sacked QB Joe Barnes eight times, while the Lions tied the game with 1:35 left in when Roy  Dewalt fired his second touchdown pass of the night to Ron Robinson.

Edmonton 28, HAMILTON 21 - Eskimo QB Matt Dunigan finished the day with 138 yards rushing, including a 69-yard TD, and hit on 16 of 27 passes for 255 yards and one TD, as he led his club back into third place

Calgary 28, TORONTO 24 (30406) - After being benched, Argo QB Joe Barnes came back and and appeared to win the game when he threw a late TD to Jan Carinci. It was ruled that he stepped over the line of scrimmage.
Hamilton 31, SASKATCHEWAN 8 (28414) - TiCat QB Dieter Brock combined with SB Rocky DiPietro for two early TDs to end the Riders' four-game winning streak.  Brock completed six of his first seven pass attempts.

HAMILTON 20, Ottawa 14 - Bernie Ruoff kicked 14 points to propel the Ticats and end the Riders' bid for a playoff spot. It is the first time in 14 seasons that Ottawa has not qualified for post-season play.
British Col 41, CALGARY 13 (23260) - Lions WR Mervyn Fernandez caught 10 passes for 182 yards and three TDs.  His 17 touchdowns tied the CFL record set by Hugh Campbell in 1966 and tied in 1967 by Terry Evanshen.

Toronto 17, MONTREAL 14 (19652) - The Concordes ultimately gained 199 yards, compared to a measly 181 for Toronto. Twice, Montreal scored electrifying touchdowns that were nullified by penalties.
WINNIPEG 30, Edmonton 11 (29135) - Bombers RB Willard Reaves ran for 115 yards, and tied two CFL records - his eighth straight 100-yard game this season and the 10th time this season he has rushed for over 100 yards.

Hamilton 25, TORONTO 20 (32578) - In the loss, Toronto's Rufus Crawford eclipsed Hal Patterson's single-season, total-yardage record by reaching 2,896. The Argos collected only 320 yards, compared to Hamilton's 414.
BRITISH COL 20, Winnipeg 3 (59421) - B.C. won the West by forcing six turnovers, including four interceptions, and yielding just seven first downs and 181 yards. They held RB Willard Reaves to 33 yards on 12 carries.

EDMONTON 52, Saskatchewan 7 - Edmonton WR Brian Kelly snared his CFL-record 17th and 18th TD passes, as he hauled in bombs of 61 and 85 yards in the fourth quarter from backup QB Johnny Evans.
Montreal 29, OTTAWA 24 - The Riders looked like anything but also rans, leading 21-13 at the half. But Montreal QB Turner Gill rallied his troops and completed 19 of 34 passes for 324 yards.

Sun Nov 4 - HAMILTON 17, Montreal 11 (20736) - DB Paul Bennett recovered two fumbles, returning one 51 yards for a touchdown, and Bernie Ruoff kicked 11 points to lead the Ticats in the rain. Ruoff also collected a CFL playoff record of 942 yards on 19 punts.
Sun Nov 4 - WINNIPEG 55, Edmonton 20 - Tom Clements fired four TD passes and ran for a fifth and Willard Reaves rushed for two more to lead the Bombers. Clements completed 24 of 33 passes for 388 yards. Reaves, who led the league with 1,733 yards during the season, rushed 23 times for 133 yards and caught six passes for 83 yards.

Sun Nov 11 - Hamilton 14, TORONTO 13 (OT) (48414) - Hamilton pulled off the upset, as they scored their only TD of the game at 8:29 of the first of two 10-minute overtime periods. The Ticats compiled only 180 yards in total offence, while the Argo offence collected 343 yards, but could muster only one touchdown - a two-yarder by Lester Brown in the first quarter.
Sun Nov 11 - Winnipeg 31, BRITISH COLUMBIA 14 (59421) - Cal Murphy became the first Canadian to coach a Grey Cup team since Teddy Morris led the Argos to three straight wins in the 1940s, as Tom Clements threw three TD passes to put Winnipeg in the Grey Cup for the first time in 19 years.

WINNIPEG BLUE BOMBERS 47, HAMILTON TIGER-CATS 17 - Hamilton jumped out to an early 14-3 first quarter lead, as Bomber QB Tom Clements was picked off two times by Felix Wright and Mark Streeter. The Bombers' got their initial points on a 25-yard FG by Trevor Kennerd to close out the quarter, then went on to score 27 points in the second quarter. The turning point came 2:26 before halft when Ticat QB Dieter Brock was levelled by Winnipeg LB Tyrone Jones. The ball came loose and NT Stan Mikawos ran 22 yards for a TD that put the Bombers in front 24-17. Willard Reaves scored a pair of TDs on three-yard runs. Winnipeg scored 44 unanswered points, shutting out the Ticats in the final 30 minutes, and won its first Grey Cup since 1962.
