OTTAWA 32, Sacramento 23 (23916) - In their first game, Sacramento QB David Archer didn't engineer a first down until 23:49 had elapsed and was sacked four times in the 2nd quarter alone. Archer wound up with 252 yards.

BRIT COL 33, Saskatchewan 26 (OT) (25849) - The Lions parlayed five turnovers, six sacks and an overtime TD pass by Danny Barrett to Ray Alexander for a win after going almost 10 months between victories.

first game of the season and the Lions hung on to beat Toronto. The Lions put the game away on Chris Skinner's 13-yard TD run with 34 seconds left.

SASKATCHEWAN 23, Edmonton 22 (17566) - The Riders offence finally caught fire as QB Kent Austin threw a pair of TD passes in the second half and Dave Ridgway kicked a 50-yard FG with less than two minutes left.

Hamilton 21, OTTAWA 20 (20016) - Paul Osbaldiston booted a 27-yard FG with no time left as the Ti-Cats won. Tom Burgess threw a pair of TD passes for Ottawa, while Don McPherson fired two TD strikes for Hamilton.

WINNIPEG 36, British Col 14 (20665) - The Bombers ran away in the 2nd quarter, ringing up 16 unanswered points, as QB Matt Dunigan completed 16 of 32 attempts for 304 yards, his second straight 300-plus effort.

EDMONTON 35, Saskatchewan 3 (27894) - Gizmo Williams exploded for a 99-yard punt return TD and hauled in a 20-yard TD pass as the Eskimos rolled. Williams bumped his career punt return touchdowns to 19.
THURSDAY JULY 22
Hamilton 25, TORONTO 9 (27373) - Hamilton's Lubo Zizakovic blocked a Lance Chomyc 35- yard FG try in the third quarter. Greg Eaglin scooped up the loose ball and went 75 yards for the TD, putting Hamilton ahead 18-3.
FRIDAY JULY 23
WINNIPEG 21, Ottawa 18 (19030) - The winning points came on a 27-
yard pass from Matt Dunigan to reserve WR Allan Boyko with four seconds remaining. The game went nearly 50 minutes before the first TD was scored.

Calgary 34, BRITISH COL 20 (31199) - The Stampeders shredded the B.C. defence as Dave Sapunjis caught 10 passes for 152 yards and two TDs. partner, Allen Pitts, hauled in eight more for another 152 yards and a TD.
SACRAMENTO 37, Saskatch 26 (17319) - QB David Archer threw for two TDs as the Miners claimed their first CFL victory. Archer passed for 394 yards. The Riders were held to 12 yards rushing, only three in the second half.

BRIT COL 28, Ottawa 24 (22267) - The victory ended a two-game losing skid for the Lions, while Ottawa has lost three straight to drop to 1-3.  The Lions, with 10 former Ottawa players in the lineup, forced six turnovers.

Edmonton 43, SACRAMENTO 11 (17827) - Sean Fleming kicked five FGs, including a 58-yarder, as the Eskimos stymied the Gold Miners, who welcomed Las Vegas to the CFL as a US-based expansion team.
SASKATCHEWAN 36, Toronto 17 (18212) - Saskatchewan QB Kent Austin threw one TD pass and kept the ball himself for two more, running up an early, 13-point lead to keep the Argos winless.

TORONTO 37, Sacramento 35 (28612) - Paul Masotti caught TD passes of 32 and 15 yards from Mike Kerrigan, who lit up the Gold Miner defence for 467 yards passing - the fourth highest single-game total in Argonaut history.

Calgary 47, OTTAWA 22 (27341) - Doug Flutie threw three TD passes and ran one in himself to lead the Calgary to their sixth straight win. It was the night of the long bomb as Flutie aired out pass after pass.
Saskatchewan 37, HAMILTON 10 (16061) - Ray Elgaard scored two TDs and moved up to third place on the CFL's alltime receiving yardage list as the
Roughriders rolled. Elgaard finished with 212 yards, giving him 10,443.

Edmonton 45, TORONTO 14 (20563) - The Argos gave up a CFL -record 13 sacks while managing no offensive TDs in front of the franchise's smallest crowd since 1988. Tracy Ham was five of 13 for 76 yards and nine sacks.
BRIT COL 48, Winnipeg 28 (28541) - After owning the 1st quarter, holding the Lions to -13 yards but trailing 14-0, the Bombers became B.C.'s plaything. Winnipeg's time of possession in the final 45 minutes was a paltry 15:50.

Saskatchewan 27, OTTAWA 26 - Saskatchewan needed a 38-yard
field goal from kicker Dave Ridgway to secure the narrow win with just over a minute to go and hand Ottawa a seventh straight loss.

Flutie touchdown passes and Derrick Crawford returned a punt 70 yards for another to stake Calgary to a 24-7 first-quarter lead.

SASKATCH 26, Sacramento 23 (33032) - Kent Austin threw two TD passes
in the second half to lead his Roughriders. A record crowd spilled out of the
stands to watch the game from lawn chairs behind the end zones.
CALGARY 35, British Col 30 (27011) - Dave Sapunjis caught two TD passes while Doug Flutie ran for another as the Stampeders remained undefeated. Flutie scored on a one-yard plunge early in the fourth for the lead.

Winnipeg 25, SASKATCHEWAN 24 (30216) - Coughing up a 24-15 lead in the final 70 seconds, the Riders ended their longest win streak in since 1972. They were trying to win six in a row for the first time since 1970.

Edmonton 34, SACRAMENTO 13 (15914) - Damon Allen threw four TDs and completed 24 of 32 passes for 482 yards and also was the game's leading rusher with 92 yards as the Eskimos secured the last Western playoff spot.

SACRAMENTO 38, Toronto 24 ( ) - The Gold Miners became the first CFL expansion team to win five games in their first season. Toronto suffered their 17th consecutive road defeat.

Brit Col 36, HAMILTON 19 (11574) - The Lions ignited an 18-point third-quarter explosion with two recovered onside kickoffs. The victory moves B.C. into a second-place tie with Edmonton and Saskatchewan in the West.

Edmonton 54, BRIT COL 14 (35654) - Edmonton QB Damon Allen passed for two TDs and ran for two and 170 yards, breaking the CFL record for yards rushing by a QB, 166, set two years ago by the Eskimos' Tracy Ham.
SATURDAY OCTOBER 30
Winnipeg 36, OTTAWA 16 (19240) - The Winnipeg defence played like its old self, piling up seven sacks and holding Ottawa QB Tom Burgess to 14 completions in 35 attempts.
CALGARY 41, Sacramento 8 (26015) - Calgary WR Dave Sapunjis turned a nothing game into something by scoring a TD and becoming the first CFL receiver to catch 100 passes in a season. Will Moore caught two TDs.

Saskatchewan 30, TORONTO 23 (29348) - Tying the CFL single-game records for completions with 41, Riders QB Kent Austin finished with 507 yards as the Riders tied the franchise record for wins in a season.

SUNDAY NOVEMBER 7
Ottawa 27, HAMILTON 26 (17032) - Former NFL star Dexter Manley sacked Hamilton's Todd Dillon and recovered the quarterback's fumble to set up the game-winning TD as Ottawa qualified for the CFL playoffs.
WINNIPEG 12, Toronto 10 (22287) - The defeat saw the Argos complete their two-year collapse from a 13-5 mark in their 1991 Grey Cup season. The loss was irrelevant as any chance of a playoff berth ended when Ottawa won.
EDMONTON 39, Calgary 21 (23356) - Gizmo Williams scored two first-half punt-return TDs to lead the Eskimos to a 29-0 lead at halftime and the game was never in doubt after that.

Sun Nov 14 - HAMILTON (6-12) 21, Ottawa (4-14) 10 (18781) - Hamilton scored three offensive TDs for the first time all season. Joey Jauch, Dave Dinnall and Lee Knight were the Ticats' unlikely scoring sources.
Sun Nov 14 - EDMONTON (12-6) 20, Saskatchewan (11-7) 13 (26397 ) - Eskimos' RB Lucious Floyd rushed for 121 yards and added 70 yards in catches against his old team, while QB Damon Allen threw three TD passes.
Sun Nov 14 - CALGARY (15-3) 17, British Columbia (10-8) 9 (15407) - Calgary QB Doug Flutie led his team with 83 yards on 11 carries.  The Lions staged a last-minute drive but lost the ball over on downs on Calgary's 48.

Sun Nov 21 - WINNIPEG (14-4) 20, Hamilton (7-12) 19 (23332) - In strong winds, the Bombers managed 133 yards in the first quarter, breaking out to a 13-3 lead. Bombers K Troy Westwood supplied the big play, hitting a 17-yard FG with 21 seconds remaining.
Sun Nov 21 - Edmonton (13-6) 29, CALGARY (16-3) 15 (20218) - Damon
Allen threw four TD passes in a blizzard as the Eskimos shattered the Stamps' title hopes. Esks RB Lucius Floyd ate time off the clock with 130 yards on 24 carries while the defence allowed just 1 second-half point.


1993 Grey Cup (November 26 at Calgary - 50,035)
EDMONTON ESKIMOS (14-6) 33, WINNIPEG BLUE BOMBERS (15-4) 23 - The Bombers returned to the Grey Cup in 1993 but once again they were foiled by an Alberta club. The Eskimos went out in front 21-0 before hanging on to their 11th Grey Cup title. Winnipeg miscues in the first quarter led to its downfall. The Eskimos took advantage of a blocked punt, a fumbled kickoff return and an interception within the first 10 minutes. Lucius Floyd scored on a four-yard carry, while Jim Sandusky caught a two-yard pass from Damon Allen. Sean Fleming added a FG at the end of the quarter. The Bombers cut their deficit to 24-20 in the fourth quarter before yielding to defeat again, as Damon Allen put together a 12-play drive leading to Sean Fleming’s final FG. Fleming hit 6 FGs to win the Most Valuable Canadian award and tie a record.
