Charles Bronfman

Charles Bronfman was / is ahighly successful businessman, from the family that ran Seagrams. Bronfman was the original owner of the Montreal Expos baseball team from 1968 to 1990.

When the Alouettes and their owner Nelson Skalbania fell on hard financial times in the spring of 1982, Bronfman was approached to become the owner of the team. The team was renamed the Concordes and Bronfman owned the team until 1986 when sold part of the team to Imasco (the parent company of Imperial Tobacco) and Norm Kimball. Bronfman would later sell the rest of the team to Kimball.
