Mike Faulkiner

Mike Faulkiner was a quarterback at the West Virginia Institute of Technology. After that,

Faulkiner started his coaching career at the high school level in West Virginia, first as an assistant and then as a head coach. From 1975-78, Faulkiner worked as an asistant receivers coach and personel evaluatior for the Washington Redskins.

Faulkiner's first exposure to the CFL came in 1979 when he was an assistant coach with the Toronto Argonauts. From the Argonauts, Faulkiner went to be an assistgant with the New York Giants (1980) and then Eastern Illinois (1981) as offensive coordinator. In 1982, Joe Gala ttapped Faulkiner as the running back and receivers coach for the Montreal Concordes.

Faulkiner returned to the NFL after Monreal, serving as an assistant coach with the New York Jets in 1983 and 1984. After that, Faulkiner served as a scout, with his last position marking a return to where it began as a scout for the Washington Redskins.

Mike Faulkiner passed away January 15, 2008.
