Bob Weber

Bob Weber was a center who played for Colorado State from 1952 to 1956.  Wikipedia says Weber played one year for Edmonton (1957?), but he does not show up on the Edmonton All-Stime roster.  A water skiing accident ended Weber's playing career and he turned to coaching.  Weber was an assistant coach with Montreal in 1966 then went back to the states to coach in the college ranks.  He coached at Trinidad State Junior College and was an assistant at his old Alma Matter of Colorado State.  From there Weber went on to be the head coach of Arizona State from 1969 to 1972 where he succeaded another former Montreal Alouette coach, Daryl Mudra.  Weber went on to be the head coach at Louisville from 1981 to 1984 and had stints as an assistant coach with Vanderbilt and Southern Methodist.  Weber returned to the CFL in 1987 as an assistant coach with the Ottawa Rough Riders, and later became the head coach in 1988. Bob Weber passed away from pancreatic cancer on November 1, 2008.
