Ron Brooks

Ron Brooks was born in Toronto and played junior football with the Parkdale team in his home town.  The young Brooks played two seasons (1956-57) with the Kitchener-Waterloo Dutchmen of the ORFU before going off to play for the University of Miami (Ohio) for two seasons (1958-59).

Brooks played two seasons for the Als (1961-62) as an offensive lineman, and one season (1963) with Saskatchewan.  Brooks was traded from Montreal to Saskatchewan in a three for three trade in June of 1963.  Brooks went to the Riders along with fullback Larry Hickman and a player to be named later for fullback Ferd Burket, offensive lineman Darren Aschbacker and defensive back Bob Miller. Brooks played only one season in Saskatchewan before announcing his retirement for business reasons.

Ron Brooks passed away in December, 1999.
