Larry Brune

Brune got off to about as good a start as a defensive back could hope for in in his CFL career, recording 5 interceptions in just 7 games in his rookie year with Hamilton. Perhaps that set expecatins too high, for in 1977 after just one interception in four games, Brune was sent to Ottawa.  Brune had his best season in the following year (1978) with Ottawa, recording 3 interceptions and two fumble recoveries - taking one for a touchdown.  That yearned Brune both East and CFL all-star honurs.  Brune played out his option and signed with the Minnesota Vikings in 1980..  Brune returned to Ottawa for the final ten games of 1981and captured an East All-Star selection with three interceptions and one fumble recovery.  Brune played just three games in his final season with Ottawa in 1982, and finished with a career total of 18 interceptions.
