Tim Cofield

Cofield had a short, but very distinguished six year career in the CFL that included three consecutive All Canandian honours (1993-95) and a runner-up for the OUtstanding Defensive player (1995).  Cofield started his career in 1986 with Kansas City of the NFL and played 54 games in the NFL from 1986 to 1989 with KC, Buffalo and the New York Jets before coming to the CFL.  Calgary signed Cofield in October of 1991 and he appeared in 4 games for the Stamps that year.  Cofield returned to Calgary in 1992 and recorded 6 sacks in 14 games.  On July 1, 1993, Cofield was traded to Hamilton for a second round draft pick and started his run of three consecutive all-star seasons.  Cofield recorded excellent sack totals with 19 in 1993 and 16 in 1994 for Hamilton before signing as a free agent with Memphis for 1995.  With the short lived Mad Dogs, Cofield has his best season ever as he had an outstanding 24 sacks and was the runner-up for the outstanding defensive player of the year in the CFL.  With the break-up of the American based teams, Cofield became a free agent and signed with Toronto and recorded 9 sacks in 13 games.  Cofield was released in december, 1996 afte the season ended.
