Gill Fenerty

Gil "The Thrill" Fenerty had three strong seasons as a running back for Toronto from 1987 to 1989,   In his rookie season in the CFL, Fenerty was an East and CFL All-Star, as well as winning the Outstandng Rookie Award in the CFL.  In 1988, Fenerty fell just short of the magic thousand yard mark rushing with 968, but still won both East and CFL All-Stars again.  Ironically, his best season in 1989 with 1247 yards rushing netted him only an East All-Star.  Fenerty signed as a free agent with the New Orleans Saints after the 1989 season, and played two seasons with some success in the NFL.  Fenerty returned to the CFL for a short two game stint with the expansion Shreveport Pirates in 1994.
