Dave Fennell

Dave Fennell was an oustanding and much feared (by Quarterbacks) defensive tackle who played ten years with Edmonton from 1977 to 1983.  With a nickname of Dr. Death, you can understand the fear.  Fennell was a big part of the Edmonton dynasty of the 1970s and early 80s. Fennell won six Grey Cups with the Eskimos, 1975 and the five consecutive years of 1978 to 1982.  Fennell won five West All-Stars (1977-1981 inclusive) and five CFL All-Stars for the same years.  Dave Fennell was nominated for the Oustanding Canadian nomination five times for Edmonton for the years 1976-1980.  Fennell won the award in 1979 and was the CFL runner-up in 1980.  Fennell also won the Oustanding Defensive Player Award in 1978.  Dave Fennell was elected to the Canadian Football Hall of Fame in 1990.
