Dick Fouts had a long 13 year career in the CFL from 1957 to 1969, splitting his time between the BC Lions and the Toronto Argonauts.  Fouts came to the CFL from Missouri where he earned All-American status.  Fouts is best remembered as a big defensive end, and at six foot six and about 240 pounds, he certainly was thatt - but a perusal of his career stats shows some surprises.  Fouts also played some offence, recording 7 catches in 1959.  Fouts also had three career interceptions, one in each of his first three seasons.  Fouts won five divisional Al-Stars, at tackle in 1958 with Toronto, 1960 at defensive end with Toronto and then in three consecutive years from 1963-65 at defensive end with the BC Lions.  The CFL All-Stars were not stared until 1962, but Fouts also won three of those in 1963-65 with the Lions. Fouts was named the top lineman in the West in 1965, though in an interesting twist of the voting back then, he lost the CFL award to Wayne Harris of Calgary.  Fouts made it to a couple of Grey Cups with the BC Lioins, losing in 1963, but revenging that loss to Hamilton in 1964.  Dick Fouts passed away on August 5, 2003.
