Dave Grosz

Dave Grosz played his college football at Oregon and was drafted in the 13th round by the Philadelphia Eagles of the NFL in 1960. Grosz came to the CFL and the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 1961, and when Bob Ptacek was injured, took over the #1 QB job with the Green Riders.  Grosz started the 1962 season with Saskatchewan, but with Ptacek back, Grosz was dispatched to Montreal.  Sandy Stephens was the number one pivot for Montreal, so Grosz was used as a defensive back.  In his final season in 1963, Grosz was with both Saskatchewan and Edmonton, but didn't generate any statistics (game participation stats were not kept in the West until 1964).
