George Klein

George was a McGill star halfback  who graduated in 1953 and was drafted by the Ottawa Rough Riders but opted to to play in the west with the BC Lions in their inaugural year, 1954. Klein played mainly on defence and as akick returner.  Klein recorded one interception and was ninth in the West in punt return yards with 187 yards. Klein had a tryout with Ottawa in 1955 after working out with the Alouettes that summer, but wishing to remain in Montreal was traded to the Alouettes for Dick Ochoa. Klein played just one year with the Alouettes. George Klein has passed away.
