Mackall was a ninth round draft pick of the Indianapolis Colts of the NFL in 1989. Mackall was released in training camp by the Colts and signed as a free agent with Winnipeg in August of 1989. He played ten games for hte Bombers, seeing action mainly as a kick returner.
