Dave Marler

Marler joined Hamilton in 1979, playing in 5 games in his rookie season.  In 1980, Marler took over as the #1 QB, playing 13 games and throwing for 1914 yards with 265 pass attempts. Marler took the Tiger-Cats to the Grey Cup in 1980, but they were hammered 46-10 by Edmonton. Apparently looking to upgrade at quarterback, Hamilton signed Tom Clements for the 1981 season and Marler spent that year and the next backing up Clements and seeng very little playing time.  Marler was released by Hamilton in July of 1983, and while Montreal flirted with the idea of picking him up, Marler ended up not playing in 1983.  Marler returned in 1984 with the Ottawa Rough Riders, but it lasted only a short three games.
