McCullough had tryouts with both the Cincinnati Bengals and the Philadelphia Eagles of the NFL in 1996 and 1997. Signed by Winnipeg in December of 1997. After playing 9 games for the Bombers in 1998, McCullough became the Bombers regular running back for 1999 and missed a thousand yard season by just ten yards. McCullough was released in May of 2000.
