George McPhail

George McPhail was a halfback and started his career with Ottawa in 1948.  After one season in the nation's capital, McPhail went West to play one season for the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 1949.  Playing for his third team in three seasons, McPhail played for the Winnpeg Blue Bombers in 1950.  It was almost four teams in four years in 1951 as McPhail was with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats for training camp, but was released and returned to Winnipeg where he had his best season offensively.  In 1951, McPhail rushed for 146 yards with a 5.2 yard per carry average and caught 6 passes for another 69 yards.

McPahil played one more season with the Bombers in 1952 and then played one game with the Montgreal Alouettes in 1953. McPhail tried out, but was released, by the BC. Lions in 1954.
