Gilbert Renfroe

Renfroe had a CFL career that spanned from 1988 to 1994 with Ottawa, Toronto, Calgary, BC and Shreveport.  He was signed in May of 1986 bot Ottawa.  In his rookie season, he saw moderate action as the backup QB with 139 pass attempts and 1051 yards.  In June of 1987, Ottawa traded Renfroe to Toronto for RB Cedric Minter.  Renfore upped his stats to 232 attempts and 1686 yards, despite playing in only 9 games due to injuries.  His one big year came in his second year in Toronto.  In 1988, Renfroe was the East All-Start QB, throwing for 4113 yards and completing 55.0% of his 527 attempts.   Injuries again curtailed Renfroe to only 8 games in 1989 with the Argos, and that pretty much marked the end of his starting QB career.  After not playing in 1990, Renfroe joined Calgary in 1991, but had only 125 attempts in 9 games.    In BC in 1992, Renfroe played only 3 games and had only 24 pass attempts.  He made one final comeback in 1994, dressing in one game for the expanson Shreveport Pirates.
