Ron Robinson

Robinson had tryouts n the NFL with Green Bay in 1978 and Chicago in 1979, before coming to the CF and signng with Calgary in November of 1979.  Robinson, howeve, saw limited action with Calgary, playing 5 games in 1980 and only 1 in 1981.  Saskatchewan signed Robinson as a free agent in July of 1982 and he saw regular action, playing n 16 games and catching 54 passes. 1983 was Robinson's best year in the CFL, though it saw him traded partway through the season to Montreal.  In 11 games with the Rider, Robinson caught 44 passes for 692 yards then caught 29 more for Montreal for 687 yards in just 6 games for totals of 73 catches and 1379 yards.  A bad trade for the Riders as all they got from Montreal was a fourth round draft pick and Robinson was named both an Eastern and All-Canadian.  Robinson changed teams yet again partway through the 1984 season as MOntreal released him in July and he was picked up by BC. Robinson ended up with 55 catches and broke the 1000 yard mark for the second time 1016 yards.  Robinson's production fell off though in 1985 for BC as he caught only 28 passes in 12 games.
