Sighned by Birmingham in May of 1995. When the US based teams folded, Simmons was drafted n the eighth round of the dispersal draft (72nd overall) by Calgary. The Stampeders released Simmons in July of 1996 before he played any regular season games for them. Signed by Toronto on August 10, 1999 and released on August 18, 1999 after dressing for one game.
