Ray Smith

Smith had an outstanding college career at UCLA where he led the team in rushing in 1958 and 1959. In 1959, he was also the team captain, led the team in scoring and was named the MVP. Smith was also an All Pacif All-Star at FB, and an honorable mention for All-American. Smith joined the Riders in 1960, but his rookie season was cut short with a leg injury in the second game of the season. Smith returned to health in 1962, and along with Ferd Burkett, gave the Riders a strong 1-2 punch out of the backfield.
