Dave Theisen

Dave Theisen was a running back out of Nebraska, a school noted for turning out great running backs. Theisen was drafted by both the AFL and he NFL in 1963. He was a 26th round pick of the Houston Oilers of the AFL and an 11th round pick of the Los Angelas Rams. Theisen elected to go with the Rams, but was released before the season started.

After his release by the Rams in 1964, Theisen joined the Toronto Argonauts for three games at the end of the season. In 1965, Theisen played one game with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers where he handled their place kicking, but did not see the ball as a running back. Theisen kicked two of his three convert attempts and mised his only field goal attemtp which went for a single and gave him a total of three points.

Dave Theisen passed away on December 9, 2014.
