Chuck Wood

 

Chuck Wood was born in Montreal and went to McFill  where e was a two-way star player for the Redmen.  Wood played both offensive guard and linebacker and was a co-captain on the team. . Wood was slected i nthe first round (second overall) by the Ottawa Rough Riders i nthe 1962 CFL college draft.

Wood played two seasons fo rthe Ottawa Rough Riders (1962-63), before coming home to play 1964 for the Alouettes. It was a bit of a roundabout trip as Wood first ended up as properfty of the Toronto Argonauts before being pard of a trade that sent Wood and fellow Canadians Clair Exelby and Jerry Philp to Montreal for Don Paquette and Ray German.
