In the East, the official all-star team started in 1932. At that time there was an IRFU / Big Four All-Star team and an All East team selected from the Big Four, ORFU and college teams. The East column identifies the All East (AE) and Big Four (BF) selections for those years (1932-55) when this was done. The CFL in the CFL Facts & Figures recognizes the Big Four selections as the divisional All-Stars since the Big Four became the modern East Division of the CFL. This is logical, but results in a few oddities. For example, Bobby Coulter is the All-East quarterback, but the CFL lists the "runner-up" in Andy Mullen as the all-star QB for 1935 since he played for the Argonauts in the Big Four and Coulter played for the University of Toronto.
West All-Stars started in 1937.
CFL All-Stars started in 1962.
The Other column includes ORFU All-Stars (O), and unofficial All-Star teams for some years: Ted Reeves (TR), Toronto Globe(TG) and Macleans (M). The selections for the Shriner All-Star games (SE and SW) are also listed.
